Glenwood Junior Board plans circus gala
The Junior Board of Glenwood is the ringmaster for a benefit that will soar like a trapeze aerialist and be as much fun as a clown’s antics.
The third annual “A Night under the Bip Top” hosted by the Junior Board will be Friday at B&A Warehouse. Guests will enjoy live music by The Undergrounders, food and drinks, casino fun and games, circus acts and a fantastic silent auction.
On the Junior Board of Glenwood, the Autism and Behavioral Health Center, are Amy Lemley Bailey, Ashley Blomeyer, Kelley Brown, Tracy Clark, Peter Curtin, Andy Davenport, Kat Drennen, Spears Griffin, Harrison Howard, Chambliss Keith, Ryan Kelly, Richard Kohn, Holly Sheperd Lollar, Guy Mitchell, Caroline Nichols,Steven Parker, Michael Phillips, Kristin Prickett, Clay Ryan, Callie Sullins and John Turner. Mitchell Industries is the presenting sponsor.
Proceeds from the circus gala will be used to equip the new Glenwood Arts and Vocational Center with art supplies and furnishings. Funds raised will also assist in offsetting the costs of vocational training and arts instruction, especially designed for children and adults with autism. Last year, 350 guests attended the gala and raised more than $30,000 for Glenwood’s Children’s Resource Center (Community Resource Center). One out of ever 166 children is diagnosed with autism. More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than AIDS, diabetes, and cancer combined. There is no medical detection or cure for autism.
Tickets are $80 a couple and $50 a person ahead of time. Call Rebecca Sibley at 795-3267. Tickets at the door are $100 a couple. Tickets can also be ordered at www.glenwood.org.
