Junior Board Nomination

Glenwood’s Junior Board is an engaging and mission critical group of volunteers for the organization. Its purpose is to promote and support the work of Glenwood through community networking, outreach, and fundraising. Some of the group’s goals include:

  • To bring community awareness and support for Glenwood by acting as ambassadors for the agency to the community.
  • To garner financial support for Glenwood by actively planning and executing an annual fundraiser and supporting all fundraising efforts of the Board of Directors.
  • To participate in activities for those served by Glenwood to enhance understanding of the agency’s mission.
  • To maintain an active board who are well educated on Glenwood’s programs, those served, and the needs of the respective community.

Junior Board Member Nomination

We appreciate your willingness to volunteer in a leadership role, knowing there are many outstanding organizations committed to improving our community. We are honored that you have chosen Glenwood. The following nomination form helps us get to know you better — your experience, skills, and how you could contribute to the Junior Board. It also outlines what we value in board candidates. Previous Experience: Please list all past and present board, committee, and task force memberships, whether civic, professional, religious, political, social, or recreational.

All new Junior Board Members must indicate their understanding and acceptance of the following conditions of their tenure:

  • New Junior Board Members are elected in July and typically begin their term on August 1.
  • The initial term is for three years, with the option to renew annually thereafter by mutual agreement.

Members are expected to:

  • Serve as ambassadors for Glenwood’s mission in the community.
  • Pay annual Junior Board dues or purchase Friends of Glenwood tickets for the Big Top event (up to $500).
  • Attend at least 7 out of 10 monthly meetings annually (virtual or in-person).
  • Support Glenwood fundraisers such as Pecans for Autism, Annual Ireland Legacy Golf Tournament, and other 3rd party event fundraisers.
  • Volunteer at least 10 hours annually, including participation in at least one event with Glenwood clients (e.g., Christmas Play, Fall Festival, Spring Fling) and assist with pre-event logistics.
  • Actively participate in annual Big Top event planning and execution, including:
    • Serve on the event committee
    • Volunteer on event day
    • Attend the event with ticket purchase
    • Secure at least $7,500 in donations, sponsorships, media support, or in-kind gifts
    • Procure at least two silent auction items
