Advancing Outcomes Through Collaboration: The Glenwood 2026 Endowed Lecture

The 2026 Glenwood Endowed Lecture was a resounding success, bringing together professionals, educators, and community partners for a morning of meaningful learning and collaboration.

Held at the UAB Alumni House, the annual event featured keynote speaker Dr. Joanne Gerenser, who presented on “Improving Outcomes Through Interprofessional Collaboration.” Her presentation explored how stronger collaboration between behavior analysts, educators, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals can significantly improve outcomes for individuals with autism and related disabilities.

Attendees were engaged throughout the session, gaining practical strategies for overcoming common barriers to collaboration and learning how to better integrate communication, behavioral, and clinical approaches in their work. The lecture also highlighted emerging research in areas like speech and language development and how those insights can be applied to enhance care.

Beyond the keynote, the event created valuable opportunities for networking and connection, reinforcing Glenwood’s role as a leader in education, advocacy, and innovation in autism services. The strong turnout and positive feedback underscored the continued impact of the Endowed Lecture as a cornerstone event that brings the community together around a shared mission.

Through events like this, Glenwood continues to elevate important conversations and equip professionals with the tools needed to better serve individuals and families across our community.
