Birmingham, AL – May 2025 — Under sunny skies and surrounded by the scenic beauty of Old Overton Club, Glenwood hosted its 33rd Ireland Legacy Golf Tournament, a day filled with community, competition, and compassion. The annual event brought together sponsors, players, and volunteers to raise essential funds for Glenwood’s adult programs, which serve individuals with autism and other behavioral health needs.

From start to finish, the day was a celebration of purpose. Golfers enjoyed a full day on the course, with friendly competition, prizes, and plenty of camaraderie. Thanks to the dedication and generosity of all involved, the tournament was a resounding success, generating crucial support for the individuals Glenwood serves year-round.
“Our adult programs help create independence, connection, and fulfillment,” said Communication and Marketing Director, Justin Ragland. “Events like this tournament make those programs possible, and we are so grateful to everyone who came together to make it happen.”
One of the highlights of the day was the ceremonial first swing, held in honor of King Acura, a steadfast Glenwood supporter for 22 years. Their commitment to the mission continues to inspire and uplift those served by Glenwood.
Participants also had the chance to contribute through Glenwood’s signature puzzle piece campaign, each purchased piece symbolizing a personal contribution to the journey of those in care. This year’s grand prize, the coveted Shoal Creek Experience, was awarded to Brian Schubert, who will enjoy an overnight stay with two rounds of golf, lunch and dinner at one of the Southeast’s most prestigious courses.
Tournament winners were celebrated in both gross and net categories, along with individual achievements like longest drive and closest to the pin.
