The dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, October 8, at The Fennec. Supporters who have graciously donated a total of $1,000 or more to Glenwood will receive more information.
Keynote Speaker: Internationally Renowned Autism Advocate Lorri Unumb
Lorri Unumb is the CEO of the Council of Autism Service Providers (CASP), an international nonprofit member organization that cultivates, shares, and advocates for best practices in autism services. She is also the founder of The Unumb Center for Neurodevelopment in Lexington, South Carolina. Prior to her service with CASP, Lorri was the main driver of “Ryan’s Law”, which passed the South Carolina General Assembly in June 2007 and served as a catalyst for a national movement toward autism insurance reform. That led her to work as the national Vice President for State Government Affairs for Autism Speaks where she traveled extensively and tirelessly with the continued drive to pass autism mandates across the country. In part because of her passion, dedication and expertise, all 50 states have now passed laws or taken other state action to ensure that health insurance covers ABA. Lorri also organizes the national Autism Law Summit annually, and has received such prestigious awards as the NASCAR Foundation’s Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award and Civitan International’s World Citizenship Award. A lawyer by trade, her work has also been profiled on CNN, NPR, and in Town and Country Magazine.
The event will also feature a special reception to officially welcome Christy Castleberry as Glenwood’s President and CEO. A long-time leader of the organization, Christy’s first day in the position is October 1, which makes it a perfect time to celebrate her, and learn of Glenwood’s future plans during the dinner. Attendees will also hear about programmatic successes over the last fiscal year. We’re happy to honor those in the community who have helped us help others reach their potential!
