The Glenwood Hiking Club, led by Caleb LaRue, Glenwood Recreational Coordinator, Trails & Aquatics, was meant to be a simple part of our Wellness Program. A chance to get outside, move a little, and invite coworkers, family, or friends to join in.
But it’s turned into something more.
It’s become a way to build real connection and community, the kind that doesn’t happen in conference rooms. Conversations come easier out on the trail. Laughter carries through the woods. Titles fade, and people show up as themselves.
Some hikes are easier than others, but every trail has its reward. Sometimes it’s an incredible view. Sometimes it’s a shared sense of accomplishment. And sometimes, it’s simply the memories made along the way.
This club isn’t about the miles. It’s about stepping away from the day-to-day and spending time together, with colleagues, friends, and family, while improving health and strengthening connection.
More often than not, we leave the trail already talking about the next one.
