Glenwood proudly welcomed friends, staff, families, and community partners on February 25, 2026 for a special Open House celebrating the opening of a new Sensory Room at Glenwood’s Behavioral Therapy Center in Avondale.
The event marked an exciting milestone in Glenwood’s continued commitment to providing innovative, individualized care for children and families with autism and behavioral health needs. Guests had the opportunity to tour the thoughtfully designed space, meet members of Glenwood’s clinical team, and learn more about the meaningful role sensory-based therapy plays in supporting emotional regulation, skill development, and overall well-being.
The new Sensory Room was intentionally created to provide a safe, calming, and engaging environment where individuals can explore, reset, and build critical developmental skills. Featuring specialized equipment and carefully selected sensory elements, the space enhances therapeutic services by giving clinicians additional tools to meet each child’s unique needs.
“We are grateful for the strong support from our community,” said Justin Ragland, Glenwood Marketing and Communications Director. “This new space reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring that every individual we serve has access to environments that foster growth, confidence, and success.”
Light refreshments were served as attendees connected with one another and celebrated the expansion of services at the Behavioral Therapy Center. The positive response from families and partners underscored the importance of continued investment in spaces that promote healing and development.
The addition of the Sensory Room further advances Glenwood’s mission of enabling individuals with autism and behavioral health needs to live life to their fullest potential.
