Our Mission and Vision
Mission
At Glenwood, our mission is to enable individuals with autism and behavioral health needs to live life to their fullest potential.
Vision
To create a future where individuals with autism and behavioral health needs can thrive and lead meaningful lives.
Our History
Glenwood began in 1974 as a program to provide treatment, education, and research in children’s mental health. When federal public funding began available the following year, our community leaders recognized the opportunity to expand our services in pursuit of our vision to enable individuals to live life to their fullest potential.
Starting with 18 students in donated space, Glenwood has grown into a diverse team of more than 450, including clinicians, medical and educational teams, direct care staff, administration, and support personnel. We touch the lives of over 10,000 families each year with services that include diagnosis, full-time care, outpatient services, in-home services, educational services, trainings, and more.

Empowering Families, Supporting Futures
At Glenwood, we believe strong families are the foundation of every individual’s success. We partner with families, encouraging involvement and respecting each person’s dignity as part of the family unit.
Through professional collaboration, superior programming, and evidence-based services, we treat every individual as unique, tailoring care to their specific needs. Our staff works to maximize potential in the least restrictive setting, delivering outcomes-driven services that empower individuals and support brighter futures for their families.
WE ARE GUIDED BY OUR CORE VALUES:
COMPASSION: We approach every interaction with empathy, kindness, and respect for the inherent worth of every person we serve. Guided by honesty, transparency, and accountability, we cultivate a culture of trust, optimism, and hope.
COMMITMENT: We are dedicated to delivering quality, innovative, and ethical care. Through continuous improvement and the pursuit of excellence, we honor our mission and those we serve.
COMMUNITY: We believe in the power of connection. By building inclusive and collaborative spaces, we support individuals and families in leading meaningful, empowered lives together. We value diversity and seek to engage the broader community to enhance our services.
