Glenwood Loves Its Volunteers
In 1974, representatives from the Allan Cott School approached the Children’s Service League about the possibility of becoming the sponsor group of the sale, and in 1976 the Children’s Service League had their first pecan sale. It was so successful, the Children’s Service League chose the sale as their annual event. The volunteers went from packing 34,000 pounds of pecans in 1976 to packing more than 55,000 pounds in 2004. Not only do these wonderful ladies volunteer their time to prepare pecans for shipment, they also manage selling stations all over Birmingham.
Glenwood would like to say thank you to the ladies of the Children’s Service League and to all of our gracious volunteers and corporate friends in the community.
Also, a special thank you to our business sponsors:
- Children’s Service League of Birmingham
- Southpoint Bank
- Winn-Dixie
- Piggly Wiggly
- Iberia Bank
- Nail’s Convenience Store
