What services are offered at the Behavioral Therapy Center?
Glenwood’s Behavioral Therapy Center offers a full spectrum of evidence-based services including testing, diagnosis, individual and family counseling, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Occupational and Speech Therapies. You do not need to be a resident or student at Glenwood to access these services.

Is a referral required to receive services?
Glenwood does not require a doctor’s referral to access outpatient services for children and adolescents including therapy, diagnosis, counseling, and more. If you are seeking services for children with severe autism, contact our Intake Coordinator at 205-939-1088 for information and referral requirements for more intensive care including Full-time Residential and Special Education school.

What age do you diagnose?
Children as young as 18 months old up to adolescents.

Do you accept insurance?
For Behavioral Therapy Center services such as diagnosis, and therapy, Glenwood accepts many insurances, as well as Medicaid and private pay. Every insurance plan is unique, and benefits vary, so we will be happy to verify the coverage on your policy once your information is processed. An authorization for treatment will need to be obtained and you will be responsible for any deductibles, copays or coinsurance costs. Where are you located?
We have multiple locations in the Birmingham area. Assessment, diagnosis and therapy services are in our Behavioral Therapy Center on our Avondale campus at 614 38th Street South, Birmingham, AL, 35222. Our Sicard Hollow campus of Glenwood with full-time residential care and schools is located at 150 Glenwood Lane, Birmingham, AL 35242.
