Glenwood Appoints New Senior Vice President / COO, Ken Oliver
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama, – August 19, 2013 – Glenwood is excited to welcome Ken Oliver as its new Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Ken’s career in health services management includes senior level assignments in several areas including acute care, physical rehabilitation, elder care, and most recently, within the field of services for individuals with developmental and intellectual challenges. Ken comes to Glenwood from Sunrise Community, a Miami, Florida—based non-profit organization serving several thousand individuals across seven states, where he served as Chief Operating Officer since 2004. Prior to joining Sunrise, Ken served as President and CEO of Active Services Corporation, and prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President of Development for ReLife, Inc., both based in Birmingham.
Ken has worked in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations and has served on several National and Local Boards. His educational background includes a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Tennessee, undergraduate degree from Berea College, and certification in Healthcare Administration from UAB.
At Glenwood, Ken will be responsible for providing oversight and direction of the day-to-day operations of the agency, including the educational, residential, outpatient, and support services on the Glenwood campus as well as the community homes. “I am honored to be joining the Glenwood team of excellent professional managers, clinicians, and caregivers who are serving such a vital purpose in our community,” Ken says.
