Children’s Center Graduation 2022

We are proud to announce the 2022 graduating class of the Mallie M. Ireland Children’s Center. Eight students were recognized in a ceremony attended by their family members. Smiles were exchanged, along with a few tears, as staff and family shared in this important milestone.

Opened in 2018 and recently expanded in 2021, the Children’s Center on Glenwood’s Avondale campus offers applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to children with autism ages two to six. ABA Therapy is an evidence-based therapy that teaches life skills including communication, social, self-help, daily living, safety, play, and academics. Therapists and specialists work as a team to create an individualized plan for each student. After age six many, of these students will take the skills they learned and either transition into public school or move on to another program that serves children seven and older.

We are grateful to the community support that brought the Children’s Center to life and helped it expand. Seeing how much the students have grown and learned is such a gift that couldn’t have happened without donors like you. Thank you!
