Research
In living out its mission, Glenwood's efforts includes the work of supporting academic and scientific research. Glenwood conducts directly or collaboratively with others on research projects that offer the hope of improved treatment. Numerous projects have been conducted in connection with the Department of Psychiatry and Neuroscience Departments at the University of Alabama Medical Center. Glenwood’s part time Director of Research is under contract from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). His role is to lead Glenwood’s research efforts while developing collaborative projects with UAB’s Department of Psychiatry and other departments at UAB. Current research at Glenwood includes multifaceted activities such as testing hypotheses that can have immediate effects on treatment approaches and researching activities designed to improve understanding and knowledge of mental illness and developmental disorders.
